Ford Motor Co. manufactures automobiles under its Ford and Lincoln brands. In March 2022, the company announced that it will run its combustion engine business, Ford Blue, and its BEV business, Ford Model e, as separate businesses but still all under Ford Motor. The company has nearly 13% market share in the United States, about 11% share in the UK, and under 2% share in China including unconsolidated affiliates. Sales in the US made up about 66% of 2023 total company revenue. Ford has about 177,000 employees, including about 59,000 UAW employees, and is based in Dearborn, Michigan.

Whether you celebrate Valentine’s Day or not, it’s a great time to think about how you can share the love and make your community a better place. That’s exactly what Ford team in South Africa did recently when they supported the Rally to Read program for the second year. Not only did they benefit six schools in Mamelodi, Nellmapius, and Eesterust with a R1.36-million grant, they collaborated with READ Educational Trust officials to personally deliver books and educational materials.
Starting at the Little Strivers Preschool on the Ford plant premises, participants divided into three teams and set out in a convoy of Ford Ranger and Raptor pickup trucks and Everest SUVs to deliver the much-needed supplies. Product marketing executive director Sunil Sewmohan’s wife is a former teacher and that made the event resonate even more for him. Esther Buthelezi, government affairs and corporate transformation executive director has been a passionate advocate for Rally to Read since it began. The excitement was contagious and the Ford South Africa team truly rallied to help kids read!
