The SDG Data Alliance Team are participating this week in a focused consultation on ‘Enhancing Global Geospatial Information Management Arrangements and Accelerating the Operationalization of the UN-IGIF’ at the United Nations Global Geospatial Knowledge and Innovation Centre (UN-GGKIC). We have participants from Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Indonesia, Panama, Samoa, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, the UN-GGIM Secretariat in New York, the UN-GGIM Secretariat in UNECA, and the Director and leadership within the UN-GGKIC. The primary objective is reviewing the materials that make up the UN-IGIF, and to evaluate progress in efforts toward accelerating its implementation, particularly through the Country-level Action Plans in developing countries. The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation's Honors Luncheon, held on November 22, 2024, at the Caesars Superdome, was a significant event celebrating the region's sports achievements and community impact. As a proud presenting partner, PVBLIC Foundation was honored to contribute to this gathering, which highlighted the synergy between sports and social development. The luncheon paid tribute to the enduring legacy of Tom Benson and the leadership of Gayle Benson, owners of the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell led a special presentation honoring their contributions to the sports community. Charting a New Path: The Development Bank for Resilient Prosperity Takes Shape through the Launch of Key Partnerships PVBLIC Foundation is proud to share that today the Development Bank for Resilient Prosperity (DBRP) was officially unveiled at The University of the West Indies (UWI) in Jamaica. Executive Chairman of the PVBLIC Foundation Sergio Fernandez de Cordova, emphasized that “Today is a turning point in history. It marks the beginning of a new chapter in global development—one where resilience, next-generation technologies, and Real-World Natural Assets drive progress.” The DBRP aims to be a groundbreaking financial institution addressing the unique challenges faced by vulnerable and developing economies. With a mission to foster climate resilience, promote sustainable economic development, and advance beyond-GDP concepts and metrics, the DBRP is designed to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions that cater specifically to the needs of its focus regions. During the event, Dr. Gene Leon, Executive Director of the DBRP, stated, "The DBRP is a bank for today and tomorrow." Dr Leon further indicated that collaboration with governments, academia, the private sector, and civil society is central to the DBRP’s strategy. The concept of a new "Partnership for Prosperity and Planet" (PPP) was highlighted. We are proud to have signed a partnership with the International Trade Centre during #COP29 to boost small business competitiveness in Small Island Developing States (SIDS), under the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS (ABAS). It’s the end of the week here at COP29 and we’re preparing to head home. A lot of progress was made advancing our programs and partnerships: 👉 We co-hosted an amazing session on green entrepreneurship with the US Department of State and NVIDIA . 👉We organized panel discussions about the SIDS Center of Excellence, SIDS Global Data Hub and the Development Bank for Resilient Prosperity with the government of Antigua and Barbuda. 👉We signed a historic MOU with the International Trade Centre and 👉 We hosted an engaging Family Offices for Sustainable Development reception with our FO and UN network. Lots accomplished, but still so much more to do to achieve our goals. 💪💪

This week, the UN-GGIM Secretariat is convening a consultation workshop in 📍 Suva, Fiji with the Pacific Community-SPC , @Pacific Geospatial Surveying Council, and SDG Data Alliance. With national representatives from 11 Pacific SIDS, Australia, and national and regional partners, the Workshop ‘Identifying Problems, Finding Solutions’ is seeking to chart 🗺 a course for small islands 🏝 to enhance their national geospatial information arrangements, leveraging the UN-IGIF ( #UNIGIF ), to accelerate the implementation of the #SDGs and the newly adopted Antigua & Barbuda Agenda for SIDS ( #ABAS ). When identifying their many similar development and related capacity challenges participants recognized that the ABAS in listing concrete priorities and actions across 10 thematic areas, provides a high degree of mandate and action for the PGSC and Pacific #SIDS . Today, the U.S. Department of State , in collaboration with PVBLIC Foundation and NVIDIA , proudly hosted the Coalition for Climate Entrepreneurship (CCE) Showcase and Networking Event at the U.S. Center during #COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The event highlighted the power of innovation and collaboration in addressing global climate challenges. Four startups—Forest Hero, FortyGuard, Boomitra, and Tomorrow.io —took center stage, presenting transformative solutions ranging from reforestation and urban heat mitigation to carbon sequestration and climate analytics. Opening remarks by Thomas Debass, Deputy Special Representative for Global Partnerships at the U.S. Department of State, and Sergio Fernandez de Cordova , Executive Chairman of PVBLIC Foundation, underscored the critical role of partnerships in advancing sustainable innovation across the Americas and the world.
