Rocket Factory Augsburg (RFA) is a German New Space start-up located in Augsburg, founded in 2018 with the mission to build rockets like cars. The company is focused on the development and production of the RFA One rocket with a 1,300 kg LEO payload capacity, featuring the Helix engine with 100 kN of thrust and 325s Isp (SL) based on KeroLOX. RFA also offers the unique Orbital Transfer Vehicle (OTV) 'Redshift' for in-orbit services such as refueling, energy supply, and constellation management, powered by the Fenix engine. The company aims to democratize access to space and reduce launch costs in the space industry.

Our first launch system, RFA ONE, features high efficiency staged combustion rocket engines and offers up to 1,300kg performance to SSO. Thanks to its Redshift OTV and access to a global portfolio of spaceports, RFA ONE provides unrivalled affordability and agility for all orbits including deployment of satellite constellations in LEO as well as launch services to MEO, HEO, GTO, GEO and even cislunar domain.

RFA is part of the OHB Group with headquarter in Augsburg. With our experienced core team, we are focusing on low cost launch technology within an automotive manufacturing environment. Team Sweden meets BR/ARTE!

Last week a camera team from BR/ARTE flew with us to Kiruna in Sweden, where we have our engine and upper stage test facilities at SSC - Swedish Space Corporation. The team accompanied us to film an important hot fire test.

Ice hockey is a team sport, just like building our #RFAONE!

Last week, we cheered on the Augsburger Panther at their home game against Red Bulls Munich.

We had our own squad onsite, with team members from HR, Marketing and Production spreading the word about RFA with hockey fans.

A big thanks to everyone who dropped by the stand to learn about our mission. Congrats to the Panther on their win, the game was amazing!

Amazing news from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) Space Agency Kleinsatellitenkonferenz today – the second flight of our RFA ONE is fully booked!

Several payloads will be flying with us with very different missions and we are proud to welcome them on board our RFA ONE. Next stop "500km SSO".
