American University of Afghanistan relocates to Doha, Qatar, offering scholarships and a chance for Afghan female students to continue their studies. Funded by Qatar and the US government, the university has 184 students, including 118 women, and offers distance learning to around 700 enrolled students in Afghanistan. Doha serves as an intermediary in the Afghan issue, providing a sanctuary for Afghan women.
