AM Best Places Under Review Ratings for Cigna's Medicare-Focused Entities

AM Best has placed under review the ratings of several Medicare-focused entities of The Cigna Group, including those involved in Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Medicare Part D, and health maintenance organizations. The under review ratings are a result of a definitive agreement by Cigna to sell these businesses to Health Care Service Corporation. The transaction, expected to close in the first quarter of 2025, will transition the business to legal entities that are part of the transaction prior to close. The ratings will remain under review until the transaction closes and AM Best evaluates the roles of these entities within the Health Care Service Corporation organization.
