Amazon and Microsoft Fight for Cloud Computing Government Contracts

Amazon and Microsoft are engaged in a battle for cloud computing government contracts, with Amazon funding and influencing advocacy groups to challenge Microsoft's dominance. The FTC is also investigating Microsoft's anti-competitive behavior in the cloud market. Additionally, AWS, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM, Meta, and VMware have partnered to make cloud spend more transparent through the FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification (FOCUS).
