Britain is set to invest 300 million pounds in a new program for producing advanced nuclear fuel, aiming to replace Russia as the main international supplier. The initiative will focus on high-assay low-enriched uranium (HALEU) for next-generation nuclear reactors, with the first production plant scheduled for the early 2030s in the North West of England. Britain also plans to launch a competition to develop small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs) as part of its long-term energy strategy.
