Five companies, including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Anduril, and General Atomics, have been selected to build a fleet of 1,000 Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCAs) for the U.S. Air Force. Kratos Defense was not mentioned. The companies' CCA concepts have been praised for their potential to integrate new technologies into the force. However, cost savings in missions and the uncertainty of CCA deployment due to budgeting challenges and lack of real-world testing and doctrine development are challenges. The Air Force plans to add more firms to the CCA supplier list in the future.
