Dr. Jack Eck, a pioneering medical contributor, has been named the 2024 Town of Vail Trailblazer Award recipient for his extensive contributions to the safety and health of Vail's residents and guests. He has been recognized for his pioneering medical work, including developing medical first responder techniques, establishing a mobile cardiac program, and training ski patrol members. Dr. Eck also played a significant role in the establishment of the Shaw Cancer Center and Jack’s Place, a cancer caring house. He retired from the Vail Health Foundation in 2020 and currently serves on the board of Eagle County Paramedic Services.
