Migrants are leaving for the US border, with a caravan of hundreds heading towards the US southern border. Many are fleeing poverty and political instability in their homelands, hailing from various countries including Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, and Honduras and Venezuela. The number of migrants arriving in Spain's Canary Islands has also significantly increased, with over 31,933 people reaching the islands compared to the previous small boats crisis in 2006. Additionally, apprehensions of migrants from China, India, and other distant countries at the US Southwest border have tripled, with a total of 214,000 arrests reported in the fiscal year that ended in September.
