The IRS is encouraging tax professionals to renew or apply for Preparer Tax Identification Numbers (PTINs) for the upcoming tax season. The cost to renew or obtain a PTIN in 2024 will be $19.75, significantly less than last year. PTINs expire on December 31 of the calendar year.
