Italy's Fucino Space Centre is set to become the main control hub for the IRIS EU satellite constellation, challenging Starlink and Kuiper by deploying 170 satellites for upgraded communication services and broadband access. Telespazio, a venture of Leonardo and Thales, will lead the Fucino expansion. The European Commission will unveil the agreement, with France and Luxembourg hosting supplementary centres, expecting a 50 million euro investment and 200 new jobs at Fucino.
