Osteoporosis scanning services are in crisis due to systematic failings, putting patients at risk of life-changing injuries. Underinvestment and Covid-19 backlog have led to diagnostic issues, with some services taking longer than 13 weeks. The Royal Osteoporosis Society (ROS) calls for the inclusion of bone health in the Major Conditions Strategy and the embedding of DXA services in new Community Diagnostic Centres.
