Vietnam has increased its South China Sea island expansion efforts, creating an additional 330 acres of land since December last year. The expansion, larger than the previous 120 acres, makes Vietnam the second largest island builder in the Spratly Islands. The expansion has raised concerns among other countries in the region, including the Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Vietnam, which have rejected China's sovereignty claims over the area.
