Troy is a highly respected executive with nearly 40 years of experience in aerospace engineering, known for his leadership, strategic vision, and operational excellence. Throughout his career, he has held key positions at Boom Supersonic, Gulfstream, Dassault Systemès, Lockheed Martin, and Honeywell Aerospace. Troy’s recent role as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Boom Supersonic focused on building a top-tier engineering team and optimizing the Overture aircraft for speed, safety, and sustainability. He managed over 140 direct and indirect reports, led business planning, investor relations, technology roadmaps, and oversaw patents and intellectual property. Troy also played a key role in the development of Boom’s XB-1 demonstrator and implemented advanced tools like CATIA 3DX to enhance engineering and operations. He was instrumental in fostering academic partnerships for critical testing and innovation. His achievements in employee engagement are noteworthy, having designed a pay-for-performance system that boosted team motivation and significantly raised engagement scores compared to industry peers. He also streamlined recruiting efforts, resulting in cost savings. At Gulfstream, Troy's leadership was evident in his roles as Project Engineer for Special Mission projects, G650 wing development, and later as G650 Project Engineering Director. He directed cross-functional teams, integrated engineering efforts with multiple suppliers, and ensured the successful certification of the G650. He was later promoted to Flight Test Chief Engineer, supporting Gulfstream’s entire large-cabin fleet.
