Many in the CA Assembly think the bill's problems have been "fixed," but this is far from reality:

The amendments made before this week's committee hearing do not address the most fundamental problem with the bill - restricting AI research instead of regulating misuses of models. Even more troubling, the latest amendments make the bill worse.
