Jade finished her MSc in AgroSciences at Tours University. With her experience in the poultry industry, she explores new approaches to our solutions. 

Aryan uses his MSc Information Technology Engineering - Computer Networks and Systems and DevOps expertise to work on our microservices architecture.

At Orbem, Cate uses her business and technology expertise to understand and represent our clients' needs. She helps define the vision for our product.

🎉Exciting news. The law that prohibits male chick culling in Germany from day 13 of incubation, was published today! BGBl. 2023 I Nr. 219 Art. 2a ensures that the chicken embryo suffers no pain, when the egg incubation is terminated after in-ovo sexing. 

This makes the Genus Focus for in-ovo sexing the only non-invasive solution for the German market starting from January 1st, 2024. The Genus Focus works on Day 12 and for all chicken breeds. The fully automated solution, in collaboration with the Vencomatic Group, is scalable and suited for hatcheries of all sizes

 With the law change we expect to soon deliver our first German installation 💪

The German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) study on pain perception in chicken embryos served as the foundation for the law. It was revealed that chicken embryos’ noxious stimuli such as pain) do not develop until day 13 of incubation. 

At Orbem, we're pleased to see another example of the agricultural sector legislating with animal welfare in mind. This law is a step towards a more ethical and sustainable sector, and we're proud to be a part of the solution. 🌍

🐣 Study in the US reveals that consumers are willing to pay more for eggs that avoid male chick culling. We hope that this encourages US egg producers to ending male chick culling, by adopting in-ovo sexing solutions or any other alternative that is compliant with animal welfare.
