First Draft of the General-Purpose AI Code of Practice published, written by independent experts Independent experts have released the first draft of the General-Purpose AI Code of Practice, which will be discussed with around 1,000 stakeholders next week. The Code aims to guide the development and deployment of trustworthy and safe general-purpose AI models in line with the foundations laid down in the EU AI Act. Here’s what you should know: 👉 The draft was prepared by expert Chairs and Vice-Chairs of four thematic working groups: transparency and copyright-related rules, risk identification and assessment, technical risk mitigation, and internal risk management and governance. 👉 It outlines guiding principles and objectives, providing stakeholders a sense of the final Code's potential content. 👉 The Code will detail transparency, copyright, and risk mitigation rules for AI model providers. 👉 Stakeholders will provide feedback in upcoming working group meetings and through written submissions. 👉 The Code will balance clear requirements with flexibility to adapt as AI technology evolves.
