Last week, Brad Kittle, Scott Bakelman, MBA, MCM, CAMS, and Chris W. headed to Chicago to connect with local fincrime fighters.

🕵️ Scams and money laundering are a dangerous duo: Fraudsters are always on the hunt for new ways to exploit unsuspecting victims. The stolen money often gets funneled through money mules and laundered, making it even harder to trace.

⚖️ Balancing restriction and risk: For banks, stricter regulations ensure safety from enforcement. For fintechs, too many restrictions can hinder business operations. Providing evidence to support perceived risks can help bridge the gap and establish a balanced approach.

💡 Know your data: Understanding where your data is, where it comes from, and how it integrates is key. Master your data architecture to best understand the ins and outs as a compliance officer.
