Zerve (part of the Intel Ignite accelerator program) is a data science development environment for data science & AI teams to explore, build, collaborate and deploy their work. Imagine the best parts of Jupyter, VS Code and Figma, that's Zerve!

Our team has first hand experience of the challenges and struggles that go into building and deploying AI and data science projects. Over the last two years, we have been through 100s of hours of interviews with code-first data users and it became crystal clear that change was needed. 

To solve these problems, a new, novel approach was required and that's exactly what we have done with Zerve. We rethought the foundations and rebuilt from the ground up, with a completely new architecture and with a development environment on top of it that will power the next generation of impactful Data Science & AI teams.

We’re incredibly proud of the work our team has done to get Zerve to where it is today and it couldn't have happened without our amazing early advocates, users, design partners, early customers and our investors (Elkstone, Enterprise Fund + our amazing angel group) who backed a team with a clear mission.

We're delighted to announce enhanced capabilities for all of our R coders, as well as go into more detail about how we achieved true language interoperability. 

Internally it was called "Project Inte(R)operable" and it's aim was to treat R as a first-class citizen. 

Our Chief Product Officer Greg Michaelson explains how we achieved it technically, along with a number of the extra benefits announced today, including 📊R Markdown Reporting & 📲 R Shiny App Support

As Greg says, the essence of the breakthrough is that "you can use R for what's good at" and have it work seamlessly with Python or SQL without any overhead.

Oh how I was wrong! 

I was never as happy to have my co-founders, both having PhDs there to tackle questions -  These students built some really awesome stuff with Zerve AI (Intel Ignite W23) -> We're going to be showing this off over the coming days too. 

We've been blown away by the Immersive Software Engineering program in the University of Limerick  in general and as a result will be making some big announcements with them over the coming weeks.
