Ceilings are often overlooked yet they hold significant design potential. As a traditionally flat surface they can be elevated into something unique and dynamic. The BMW Showroom began as a large, cavernous space, spanning 10,000 sqm of predominantly glass and concrete. The brief was to transform it into a premium destination that felt warm and inviting. Utilising Frontier™ Axis and Raft across the ceiling created the perfect acoustic solution, adding depth and an interesting backdrop that allows the colours and metallics of their vehicles to really take centre stage. Take a look inside Reine La Rue, an elegant restaurant located within the landmark 1890s Melbourne Stock Exchange building in the heart of the CBD. Transformed over five years, Reine La Rue reawakens the heritage space, giving it modern functionality whilst preserving its architectural beauty. Considered choices were made to maintain the gothic detailing, solid limestone walls, vaulted ceilings and solid grey granite columns, meaning a unique, high-performing acoustic solution had to be crafted to blend seamlessly into the heritage backdrop. Traditionally seen as quiet spaces, most modern school libraries now host a much wider array of activities, accommodating both collaboration and quiet-focused study. The brief for St Andrews Lutheran College Library was to transform this much-loved space into an innovative learning environment that was inviting and had a neutral, earthy backdrop.
