The site’s inherent beauty yielded a magnificent backdrop for this wonderful residential project. 🌳 The architectural vision for this project was driven by a desire to maximize the site's panoramic views, necessitating the use of expansive glazing. The design had to account for the Cobbitty region's climate, with temperatures soaring into the high 30s during summer and dipping to lows of 6-8 degrees in winter, ensuring both thermal performance and visual connection with the surroundings. “The clients love the house’, they were just blown away that on a winters’ day it was still beautifully warm inside without the use of artificial heating – the house is performing exactly how we’d intended.” – Tony of AO Design Studio. The design intent was to create a spacious and ‘open’ home for our clients, reflecting their move from the shores and glistening sunrises of Bondi to the verdant expanses of the Southern Highlands. 🔑 The carefully designed skillion roof with overhangs and blade walls, maximises passive solar heat gain in winter, while blocking excess heat in summer. Series 424 Double Glazed CentreGLAZE™ Fixed Highlights were incorporated throughout, taking advantage of the 7m of northern sun the structure invites into the core of the home. ☀️ The striking Series 618 MAGNUM™ Sliding Doors offer an uninterrupted 180-degree view from the open plan living, dining, and kitchen areas.
