This event brought together current and emerging leaders from across the industry, who enjoyed a stellar and varied line up of presenters, including Barminco’s own Alan Price , Shift Supervisor (and former Graduate Engineer) at Sunrise Dam, who spoke to MC Christina Morrissy about our company and the work we do. The Barminco team celebrated an exciting milestone at the Dalgaranga Gold Project with the first full-face portal firing earlier this month. The Juniper decline portal has been established as part of the twin decline development, totalling 2.3km, which will provide access for exploration drilling. The portals were fired simultaneously, with one being a split firing, to ensure accurate and safe development. Barminco is proud to be working in partnership with our client Spartan Resources Ltd . Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the safe and successful start-up at Dalgaranga.

Our team at AngloGold Ashanti Australia 's Sunrise Dam operations have been trialling an innovative new Rock Drill from Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions delivering significant productivity and maintenance performance. We look forward to understanding the full potential of the RD1735 across our underground operations.

We are pleased to announce that our underground mining business, Barminco , has signed a contract extension with IGO to continue mining at the Nova underground nickel mine in the Fraser Range, Western Australia. Barminco’s involvement at the Nova mine commenced in early 2015 when it was a greenfield site. This contract extension is worth $157 million and runs for 29 months. As part of our commitment to drive sustainable and productive mining solutions, we have worked with Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions to deploy the battery-electric DL422iE at IGO Ltd 's Nova operation. As the primary production drill on site, it is providing valuable data to support our future electrification and decarbonisation ambition.

Last week, we were pleased to welcome 22 students to our purpose-built Barminco Training Centre as they ventured into the world of underground mining during the September WA Mining Club Get in to Mining Camp. The students came together from across WA to learn more about the many different opportunities available in the mining industry and what a future career in mining could look like for them. We hope to see some of the familiar faces of these students at our global operations in the coming years! #greatjobsinmining

Dozens of family members flew up to the Duketon Gold Project recently as part of a special day hosted by Regis Resources Ltd . It was a unique opportunity for everyone to tour the mine operations, get a close look at our mining equipment and experience a tasty spread at the mess. Our virtual reality headsets were a big hit with the kids and Mr Whippy made a special visit with some sweet treats. Thanks to everyone who made the day a great success!

Earlier this month, we were pleased to welcome 11 of our colleagues from across our African operations to Perth. Coming from Botswana, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Senegal and Tanzania, the group enjoyed experiencing the Australian way of life and visiting various iconic Perth attractions. Tours of our Barminco and Ausdrill facilities were a highlight, and the group particularly enjoyed visiting our underground operations at the Regis Resources Ltd Duketon Gold Project, offering an opportunity to identify areas of difference and crossover – and importantly, areas where we can learn and improve from each other across regions. The trip aligned with the 2024 Africa Down Under conference, and the group also had the opportunity to spend time with Perenti leaders and teams from our different businesses and connect with their Australian counterparts.
