The Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) is a government-owned green bank, wholly owned by the Australian Government. It was established to facilitate increased flows of finance into the clean energy sector. The CEFC's mission is to accelerate Australia's transformation towards a more competitive economy in a carbon constrained world, by acting as a catalyst to increase investment in emissions reduction and clean energy technologies.

Congratulations to the Best Tall Building in the world!
 
It’s great to see that the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) has recognised Quay Quarter Tower from the Mirvac Wholesale Office Fund as the Best Tall Building Worldwide in 2023.

The transformation of the building now known as Quay Quarter Tower proves that old can be made new again and even better. 

The QQT refurbishment, one of the biggest building upcycling projects attempted, demonstrates how building owners can get greater performance out of existing structures.

Driving development of climate tech startups 
 
We’re backing the growth of five climate tech innovators through the Climate 10x accelerator program.
The CEFC has invested $480,000 alongside $100,000 from UNSW to provide funding support and mentorship.
The first five startups – SoNiA Green Tech, Workbench X, DeCarice, Powour and GreenDynamics - have innovations that significantly impact emissions reductions or improve the resilience and adaptability of existing infrastructure to allow for a faster transition to renewable energy.

A ground-breaking achievement for green hydrogen
 
Congratulations Ark Energy Corporation on the official ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of Stage 1 of the SunHQ Hydrogen Hub.
 
SunHQ will be one of the largest fully integrated, green hydrogen production and refuelling facilities in Australia. It will involve a 1 MW polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) electrolyser that will produce green hydrogen from a behind-the-meter connection to the co-located 124 MW Sun Metals Solar Farm in Townville in Queensland.
 
The CEFC is supporting the green hydrogen project with a commitment of $12.5 million that was announced in 2021.
 
CEFC CEO Ian Learmonth congratulated Ark Energy on its leadership in the hydrogen sector with SunHQ contributing to reducing emissions and supporting the reduction of carbon in the zinc supply chain.
