DIAB Engineering is proud to announce that we've been awarded a $1.8 million grant from the Government's Local Manufacturing Investment Fund (LMIF) to expand our rail maintenance facilities in Geraldton! At the announcement held at our workshop, CEO Glen Payne expressed his gratitude: "A huge thank you to Minister Stephen Dawson and Lara Dalton MLA for their continued commitment to regional growth and innovation in WA. We’re excited to bring new opportunities to the Mid West and deepen our support for the local community." This expansion is a significant milestone, positioning the Mid West as a growing hub for railcar maintenance. Meet Manny Barrola, an expert boilermaker who has been with DIAB for 18 years and played a crucial role in the World’s Biggest Tractor project. With a smile always on his face, Manny sparks not only the welding torch but also joy and positivity wherever he goes. Manny’s career has taken him to six countries across the Middle East and Asia, where he worked in diverse environments, including refineries and oil rigs. He’s an expert in welding, piping and fabrication, making him an invaluable asset to the team. “We have such a strong and dedicated team here at DIAB. We respect and support each other. It’s a collaborative and safe working environment for everyone – I love coming to work every day,” says Manny. Thank you, Manny, for bringing your expertise and joy to DIAB!

It all started with a dream 30 years ago. 21,000 hours, 2,300 parts and an incredible teamwork later, we couldn’t be prouder of The World’s Biggest Tractor. It was a special day for the Mid West community. “This project was ambitious and this moment isn’t just about the final product. It’s about the journey it took to get here, the challenges we overcame and the teamwork that made it all possible,” said Jesse Winch-buist , Workshop Manager at DIAB, during his speech at the launch. The World’s Biggest Tractor is finally here! Unveiled at the North Midlands Country Carnival in front of over 2,000 spectators, the replica of the iconic Chamberlain 40K left everyone in awe. Built with 42 tonnes of steel. Coated with 800 litres of orange paint. Brought to life by a skilled team of 58. Our Victorian workshop and site crews have been hard at work, completing the fabrication, supply and installation of this impressive 6,400sqm storage facility. This exciting project features a three storey structure, using 115 tonnes of steel and standing 13 metres tall. Thanks to our dedicated team, it is being delivered smoothly and on time. Say hello to Bayani Baluyot, a seasoned boilermaker who has been part of the DIAB team for twenty years. Bayani moved to Geraldton from the Philippines at just 22 years old and has built an impressive career with DIAB. His passion for creating with his hands led him to pursue a trade in boilermaking. “I love working at DIAB. It’s an amazing multicultural environment and everyone is so great to work with. I’ve been continuously inspired to improve my skills and develop my strengths,” says Bayani. With years of experience and a mastery of various fabrication tools, Bayani has become a vital contributor to some of our most important projects. Outside of work, he enjoys collecting rare coins and travelling the world 🌏 Thank you Bayani for your dedication and for being such an inspiration to the team!

The World’s Biggest Tractor is coming to life in Carnamah! Our expert team is assembling the impressive Chamberlain 40K replica, standing 11.5 metres tall and 16 metres long. We’re excited to enhance our services with one of the largest laser cutting machines in Australia, featuring a massive 25m x 3.5m bed and 3D bevel head. This cutting-edge equipment is set to be operational in the coming months.
