We are pleased to announce that the following standards have been published: AS 1670.1:2024 (Detection) AS 1670.3:2024 (Brigade Monitoring) AS 1670.4:2024 (EWIS) These will be cited in the NCC-2025.

When did you last check with your supplier of fire detection systems that ALL their products are APPROVED (not "conform to") to all CURRENT Australian Standards, as referenced in AS1670.1:2018? AS1670.1:2018 (which is the current version referenced in the current NCC) requires a fire detection panel (and a gas-suppression panel) to be certified to AS7240.2, not the old AS4428.1. AS4428.1 no longer exists as a normative reference within AS1670.1, and should not be used. So, if you're a designer, installer, or certifier, you must ensure that the products you select are compliant to all normative references listed in the version of the standard you're signing the job to.
