We’re excited to reveal the winner of our ‘Name the Crane’ competition for the Hervey Bay Library and Council Administration Centre project. Meet HERCULES — the tallest crane on the Hervey Bay skyline! The legendary Greek hero known for his size and strength, is the perfect fit for our powerful crane. Hercules plays a key role in constructing the new Hervey Bay Community Hub for the Fraser Coast Regional Council, which will feature an expanded library over two levels, a Council administration centre, a public plaza, and flexible spaces for community use. A huge congratulations to ten-year-old Caden Toole for coming up with the winning name and a big thank you to all the students who participated! All submissions will be proudly displayed at the Hervey Bay Library, and you’ll be able to see Hercules hard at work on-site throughout the year ahead. We’re excited to share the winning name from our ‘Name The Crane’ competition at the Tamworth Mental Health Unit project! Introducing Lofty — the 31-metre tower crane that will help bring the new Tamworth Mental Health Unit to life. Chosen from almost 1,000 community votes, “Lofty” soared above the competition with 707 votes. A big thank you to the community, including patients, families, staff, volunteers, and school students, who submitted 185 creative entries. The finalists, “Burralga” (local Aboriginal word for the Brolga crane bird) and “Bunji” (meaning “mate”), also received strong support. We’re proud to be part of delivering this essential project in partnership with Hunter New England Local Health District and Health Infrastructure . Set for completion in 2025, the new unit will feature: - 4 adolescent inpatient beds - 20 general adult beds - 5 high acuity beds - 8 older persons’ beds The facility is part of the NSW Government’s $700 million Statewide Mental Health Infrastructure Program, ensuring enhanced care for the community. Who doesn’t love a weekend of footy? Hansen Yuncken was proud to sponsor the Western Warriors team for the second year in a row at the NSW Koori Rugby League Knockout Carnival in Bathurst over the weekend. Competing in the Under 17’s division this year, the team brought together players from regional and remote communities in NSW, all with tremendous talent and a passion for the sport. While a win wasn’t in the cards this year, it was fantastic to see the team and their families come together for such a major sporting event in NSW. We’re incredibly proud to be part of the Western Warriors family, and to have been able to come on this journey and share in the experience with the team. It's been an award winning week at Hansen Yuncken! After taking out the Australian Institute of Building South Australia Award for $25 million to $60 million only just a month ago, we are thrilled to announce that our Coopers Stadium Redevelopment project has been awarded a High Commendation at the National Awards. The Coopers Stadium Redevelopment was an extensive upgrade to South Australia's premier Football venue ahead of hosting a series of matches for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. Undertaken over two stages, expertly navigating two seasons of A-League football, the redevelopment included a structural steel roof and new corporate facility atop the Eastern grandstand, four new light towers, LED lighting system, media, kitchen and changeroom facilities.
