Infravision's technology, services, and construction methods enabled Powerlink to unlock significant benefits including increased construction schedule flexibility and compression, the ability to operate during multiple cyclone events and adverse weather conditions, reduced impact to the local community and environment, and a notable reduction in safety risk exposure to workers.

We are thrilled to be at the forefront of innovation with our flagship pumped storage hydro project, achieving several industry firsts. 🌟 Not only is this the first pumped storage hydro project developed in over 40 years, but it also ingeniously repurposes a disused gold mine into a large-scale water battery. 💧🏗️

We are proud to have set a new benchmark as a business case study in the safe and efficient execution of draw line installation for the project, using Infravision's cutting-edge drone technology! 😱 🚁 

Infravision, in collaboration with Powerlink Queensland, has been instrumental in this achievement. Their innovative Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) facilitated the power line stringing over an impressive 186-kilometre transmission line. This line connects the Aurumfield Substation in Kidston to the Guybal Munjan Substation in Mount Fox and will help the hydro project distribute power into the national electricity market. ⚡

🎓 Infravision completed our Energy Scaleup Program in 2020 and then our Climate Solutions Accelerator in 2021. 

🫱🏻🫲🏼 Infravision and state-owned energy company Powerlink Queensland are stringing 50 kilometres of transmission lines, connecting the Genex Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro System to the Queensland electricity SuperGrid, a partnership established during their time in the 2020 Energy Scaleup Program.

Infravision is coming to Edison Electric Institute 2024 this week in Las Vegas!

Infravision, which has developed a drone-based powerline stringing system, expects to hire another 70 over the next 12 months as the energy transition drives demand for more high-voltage electricity transmission lines.

In a statement from the Queensland Government today, it was shared that Infravision and state-owned energy company Powerlink Queensland are stringing 50 kilometres of transmission lines, connecting the Genex Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro System to the Queensland electricity SuperGrid.

“We take pride in how our collaboration with Powerlink is fostering innovation at our Queensland manufacturing facility, creating jobs for Queenslanders and enabling the integration of cutting-edge Australian technology and services to bolster the worldwide shift towards sustainable energy,” said Infravision Regional Director Matt Jones.
