We are beyond thrilled to share that McWilliam’s Wines has brought home ‘Best Australian Wine of the Show’ recognition from the 2024 Japan Wine Challenge 🥂 🍷 The McWilliam’s portfolio shone with the McWilliam’s Hanwood Estate 10 Year Old Grand Tawny winning the ‘Best New World Fortified’ trophy and a prestigious platinum medal. This remarkable achievement made it the only Australian wine to receive a platinum medal across all categories, securing its place as the ‘Best Australian Wine of Show’ award. 🏆 🥇 McWilliam’s Wines has always prided themselves on producing quality and has been crafting fortified wines at their Hanwood Estate site for over a century. Most honorable mentions are owed to our McWilliam's Hanwood 30-Year-Old Tawny awarded 97 points and Top-rated Fortified! The 2022 McWilliam's Single Vineyard Canberra District Shiraz received 96 points, while the 2022 McWilliam's 1877 Tumbarumba Chardonnay scored 95 points, a fantastic achievement! Kudos to the Halliday Wine Companion tasting team! 🍷

Our annual Calabria Family Wine Group Portfolio Tastings returned in June 2024 across both Melbourne and Sydney! Our domestic sales team was joined by our winemakers Emma Norbiato , Mel McWilliam & Russell Cody , international ambassadors from Fontanafredda , Hecht & Bannier & Whitehaven Wine Company , and Scott James McWilliam DipWSET . Showcasing over 13 brands including Symington Family Estates , Librandi Wine , Doña Paula Wines , Champagne Deutz & McWilliam's Wines across our domestic and international portfolio, the tastings gathered over 100 customers across both cities & was a great opportunity to reconnect and immerse them in the culture of the Calabria Family Wine Group 🥂🍷

Unearthing a moment in time with McWilliam's Wines . Our rich winemaking history is sometimes celebrated in the most unexpected ways. Recently, a builder working on renovations at the Northcote Town Hall in Victoria, discovered a bottle of McWilliam's Royal Reserve Port left under the century-old floorboards and was generous to share his find with us. He returned the bottle to its original finding place and carried on the tradition by leaving a new bottle of the same wine of ours next to the one he had discovered, for future generations to discover.
