We were honoured to host the visiting Fiji Government delegation at our Wacol facility on Thursday 17 October, including the Hon. Agni Deo Singh, Minister for Employment, and Mr. Mataiasi Daulako from the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) The visit focused on strengthening collaboration around the PALM scheme and discussing opportunities for Fijian team members. Last week, Primo Foods celebrated NAIDOC Week – an acknowledgement that recognises the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. This year’s theme, ‘Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud’, honours the enduring strength and vitality of First Nations culture – with fire a symbol of connection to Country, to each other, and to the rich tapestry of traditions that define Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Across our sites, we celebrated the week with local Elders from our communities, participating in a number of activities nationwide. We reflected on the journey, strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our COO, Jamie Eastley, stated; “Primo Foods acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land that we share, and that it is up to each of us to ensure diversity, equity and inclusion in our workplaces and lives.”
