It’s the eve of the US Presidential election and in anticipation of an extremely tight race, QIC’s Economics & Research Team has prepared an assessment of potential Trump vs Harris Presidential outcomes. Across five scenarios, the largest impacts on the economy and financial markets come from a Trump win. But Trump will not have free rein to implement policy, and our team expects he will need to pull back on tariff hikes and the severity of his immigration policy. Of course, Harris could win and two scenarios explore the impacts of a Democratic win. Benefiting from strong demographics, consistent economic growth and effective governance, it's not surprising that #Australia ranks as the 6th most attractive global destination for international investment and is expected to rise to 4th by 2050. This topic was among those discussed at the Property Council of Australia 's Capital Markets Forum this week. In a panel led by QIC Real Estate 's Managing Director, Deborah Coakley , panellists explored considerations for this investment future, in particular: if Australia is to remain an investment destination of choice, what do we need to do, learn and consider in order to attract capital to the real estate sector.

This award recognises our portfolio company Pacific Energy for its achievements in strategically pivoting to grow its #renewable and hybrid power solutions for remotely located customers across Australia. IJGlobal judges acknowledged their focus on #ESG impact, with one judge stating “Pacific Energy demonstrates multiple ongoing changes in a sector that can be hard to decarbonise. It has achieved significant impact as – at acquisition – renewables and hybrid accounted for approximately 2% of Pacific Energy’s contracted capacity. Today, renewables and hybrid energy systems represent over 70% of this portfolio.”
