The Utilities segment offers operations, maintenance, design, and construction services, as well as range of specialist metering, new energy, and inspection services to gas, water, and electricity network owners and other customers. Its services include asset upgrades and replacement; design, engineering, and construction services for network assets and energy-related products; and meter reading and network assurance, as well as specialist inspection, auditing, and compliance services. The Transport segment provides operational support and maintenance services to public and private road, and tunnel asset owners. Its services comprising road network maintenance, control room operations, minor civil construction services, and installation and operation of intelligent transport systems. The company was incorporated in 1996 and is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia.

Every day, 58 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer, and sadly, 9 die from the disease. The best path to survival remains early detection supported by regular check-ups. Last night, Service Stream attended the Western Chances 21st Anniversary Gala in Melbourne – a remarkable event celebrating two decades of empowering young people to pursue their education and reach their full potential. Over the years, Western Chances has supported 4,067 young people from Melbourne’s west, providing merit-based, tailor-made scholarships to break down financial barriers. The evening was filled with inspiration, from heartfelt stories shared by current and former scholarship recipients to a keynote address by Patron, The Hon. Julia Gillard AC. The night also featured a super raffle with a brand-new car as the grand prize, a silent auction, and special live performances by talented Western Chances alumni – all raising crucial funds to support even more scholarships for deserving students. Service Stream has proudly supported Western Chances since 2017, and in 2023, we renewed our commitment with a new 5-year partnership to continue backing this vital program. Last Friday, a dedicated group of 12 volunteers from Service Stream came together for a meaningful Corporate Volunteering Day with Bears Of Hope Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Inc , a not-for-profit organisation that supports families across Australia during their most challenging times. Bears of Hope provides comforting resources to families experiencing loss, including their signature bears, Sophie and Hope. Each bear is lovingly labelled with the name and date of a child lost to a family, honoring the fundraising efforts of families who wish to help others in similar situations. These bears, along with a tote bag containing brochures, photo frames, journals, candles, and seeds, are distributed to hospitals and medical centers to ensure no family walks away empty-handed. Our team members from various parts of Service Stream assembled the resources in an efficient assembly line. Despite being a large group in a small space, everyone engaged wholeheartedly, quickly becoming a well-oiled machine. The camaraderie and teamwork displayed were inspiring, turning what could have been a daunting task into a rewarding experience. “I was humbled by the response from everyone. This experience showed how impactful corporate volunteering can be, both for the organisation and for the individuals involved," said Michele Drinnan , Senior Bids Specialist. "Bears of Hope operates on a shoestring budget, relying heavily on corporate and public donations as they do not receive government funding. Events like ours play a crucial role in helping them continue their vital work". Service Stream is proud to be part of the National Roads & Traffic Expo 2024 coming up in Melbourne at the end of October. We’ll be showcasing recent initiatives and achievements, including our immersive Virtual Reality (VR) learning environment, which has transformed training for our Spit Bridge operators in Sydney. Service Stream Project Engineer Taniya E. will be presenting "From Simulation to Operation: Virtual Reality Training at Spit Bridge" on Day 2 of the Expo at 12:55 pm. An emerging leader in our Transport business, with a passion for bridging the gap between traditional civil engineering and the digital frontier, Taniya has been a driving force behind our VR initiative as part of our Connect Sydney team. Service Stream recognises the challenges faced by parents and carers in the workplace, especially during the school holiday periods. Earlier this month, Service Stream partnered with KidsCo Australia to trial a school holiday program for 60 children in our Melbourne office. Not surprisingly, the feedback from parents was overwhelmingly positive: 👍 100% of employees said the program improved the overall workplace culture 👍 88% of employees said the program was a significant support for their mental health and wellbeing 👍 On average, employees reported gaining an additional 3-4 hours of productivity per day due to the availability of the school holiday program Parents loved the opportunity to show their children where they work and introduce them to their workmates. We are thrilled to announce that Service Stream has been awarded a three-year contract with nbn® Australia to deliver the New Developments Module (NDM). Under the NDM, Service Stream will provide comprehensive survey and construction services for new developments and developers across New South Wales, ACT, Victoria, and Queensland. The NDM will cover a range of sites, from smaller Simplex Premises to larger Single Dwelling Units (SDU) and Multi Dwelling Units (MDU). “This contract award validates our team’s hard work and dedication, while also empowering us to deliver innovative solutions that enhance services for developers.
