Ski & Snowboard with Kids to relaunch as Ski & Snowboard in May 2025 ⛷ Ski & Snowboard with Kids was the first family snow magazine when it launched 19 years ago, forging a path in the mountains for families keen to introduce their children to the thrill of skiing and snowboarding. Those children have now grown up, leaving mum and dad behind on the slopes. And like them, Ski & Snowboard magazine is growing up and embracing more advanced wintery activities. Cathy Wagstaff , Founder of Signature Media, said “After several ski magazine closures, I saw an opportunity to reposition Ski & Snowboard with Kids as a more comprehensive ski travel title. Hence the decision to relaunch as Ski & Snowboard to reach a broader market segment and position nicely alongside Vacations & Travel - the magazine for everyone.” The magazine will continue to be edited by Helen Hayes , with Lisa Wagstaff stepping into an Assistant Editor role. In 2025, our 19th issue will be a new beginning, now covering skiing and snowboarding and other mountain adventures – for all ages. Just because we have dropped the ‘with kids’ from our masthead, doesn’t mean we are dropping families. We will continue to cover family-friendly snow experiences at the resorts that look after families so well. Tomorrow is a very exciting day. It marks 25 years of #HolidayswithKids magazine. I wanted to share a bit about my incredibly talented mum, Cathy Wagstaff . 25 years ago, Cathy was a solo mum trying to plan holidays with her two young daughters ( Lisa Wagstaff and I). It was before the internet had really taken off, and planning a family holiday was a frustrating process that required phone calls to hotels checking if they had safety cots, rollaway beds, babysitting services, strollers for hire and an endless list of other essentials. Cathy was contracted to Federal Publishing and working on the third issue of Holidays with Kids when it was announced it was to be the last. They did not feel there was a future for a family holiday magazine. As a mother of two young children working full-time, Cathy believed that this was something parents needed. Despite many hoteliers at this time not having an interest in the family market, she was confident that as more mothers returned to the workforce amid rising living costs, they were going to need proper holiday, the type that hotels and resorts could provide and then, in turn, more hotels would recognise the value of the family market. Cathy brought the magazine and with feedback from other parents and her mothers’ group, our early issues were packed with practical information on family-friendly amenities with icons showing all of the family facilities each had. Fast forward 25 years and Holidays with Kids is Australia's #1 resource for family holidays. The magazine is published quarterly and holidayswithkids.com.au is a go-to resource for Aussie parents planning their holidays. Over the years Cathy launched new industry-first titles including Signature Luxury Travel & Style and LATTE Luxury News , and acquired Australia's longest-running travel magazine, Vacations & Travel in 2020. It is also worth noting Cathy had no investors and to this day the company is solely run by her. I am so proud, humbled and constantly impressed by you.
