Silicon Quantum Computing Pty. Ltd. (SQC) is focused on building a quantum computer in silicon by commercialising world-leading research developed at Australia’s Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology (CQC2T) and through the efforts of its own team of world leading researchers and engineers.

A stand alone company owned by the Australian Commonwealth Government, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Telstra, UNSW Sydney and the NSW State Government, SQC operates from world class laboratories at UNSW in Sydney, Australia.

SQC recently delivered the world's first integrated circuit built at the atomic scale, is on track to build a commercial quantum device by 2028, and has the ultimate goal of delivering useful commercial quantum computing solutions.

The quantum computer will be transformative for every aspect of society, creating the potential to solve highly complex problems in greatly reduced timeframes and to address problems that are currently beyond the capacity of conventional computers.
 
SQC is exploiting and commercialising the power and potential of its intellectual property to realise wider economic benefits including a new quantum computing industry in Australia.

We're SQC, a quantum computing company based at UNSW in Sydney. Our single, burning, insanely ambitious aim: to build the world's first general-purpose quantum computer. Quantum processing is poised to unlock an entirely new class of problem-solving, and the potential benefits are huge.

We've already come a long way, with a brilliant team led by trailblazing researcher Michelle Simmons. But the international race is heating up, and we need your help.

We're looking for bright and enthusiastic students to join our researchers in this audacious, thrilling adventure with projects available across atomic-scale fabrication, device measurement, algorithms, condensed matter/spin physics, and QEC.

Tune into #ABCTV or #ABCiview tonight at 8pm, to see SQC’s Founder, CEO and winner of this years’ Prime Minister’s Prize for Science Michelle Simmons deliver the first of four lectures.
 
‘The Atomic Revolution’ will reflect on what started out a quarter century ago as frontier science to test the bounds of what was technically possible. Since then we have demonstrated the ability to manufacture atomic-scale devices of extraordinary precision and quality. We remain the only company that can manufacture with atomic precision and are pioneering a clear pathway for making a quantum computer here in Australia.
