Symbion today announced it had extended its supply contract to Australian community pharmacy network Capital Chemist Group by a further five years, building on a 10-year partnership. Under the agreement, Symbion will remain the first line wholesaler of prescription medicines, OTC and complementary health products to all Capital Chemist pharmacies in Australia. Symbion has been Capital Chemist’s major trading partner since 2014 and Symbion CEO Brett Barons welcomed the extension of the relationship. “We are proud and honoured to continue our long association with Capital Chemist and we thank them for again entrusting Symbion to be their primary wholesale partner,” Brett said. “It has been wonderful to be a valued partner in Capital Chemists’ growth in size and reputation over the decade and we look forward to extending the services and support we can offer to their pharmacists and patients.

Recently, WA Key Account Managers Hailey Seubert and Carly Bright attended and presented at the Curtin University Pharmacy Awards ceremony in Western Australia. This annual event celebrates students who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to their studies and are among the top in their class. Symbion plays a role in sponsoring this event, with its contributions making a tangible impact on the futures of these aspiring pharmacists. Symbion welcomes the announcement of the 8th Community Pharmacy Agreement between The Pharmacy Guild of Australia and the Australian Government. The $3 billion of additional funding as well as initiatives to provide cheaper medicines to Australians provides certainty for the pharmacy industry.
