Meet our new Work Skills Coach - Janet Monagle Janet joins the Vanguard team most recently from Busy at Work and a background spanning employment services, business administration, dentistry and production management. Janet enjoys motivating individuals, guiding them toward their goals, development and facilitating personal growth. By working closely with our transitional staff, Janet assists staff to build their confidence and skills as they work towards their choice of employment beyond Vanguard. Featuring TradeMutt work shirts proudly worn by our accredited Mental Health First Aid Officers thanks to a partnership with Grand Central Toowoomba .

It felt appropriate to launch the first of our new monthly impact updates for what was one of our biggest months ever! Thank you to David New and Kym Kanofski for organising and everyone who attending the September Local Jobs Meeting that we hosted last week. It was great to see some new faces.

What a day! We teamed up with Western Truck Group and hosted their bi-monthly BBQ. As apart of this collaboration, WTG has sponsored four of our staff members to earn their first aid and CPR certificates. It's always fantastic to collaborate with major employers in the Toowoomba community who share our commitment to skill development and supporting our team. NEW ROLE: Trades Assistant/Maintenance Officer Our team is growing! A newly created role helping ensure our commercial laundry runs seamlessly, allowing us to deliver quality linen to our customers and fulfil our social mission. We are excited to introduce one of our newest additions to our board – Kate Venables . Kate is the Executive Director of CatholicCare SW QLD and has spent the last 20 years working in the social services sector in Queensland. With a real passion for rural, regional and remote Australia, she is aware of the many vulnerabilities and complexities of our varied communities. Kate holds a number of Board and Committee roles, including as a member of the Jobs Queensland Board and Chair of the QLD Care Consortium and Council member for the Duchesne Residential College in UQ. We are excited to introduce one of our newest additions to our board – Sue Bruce . Sue has a 25+ year career in Human Resources, with a depth of experience and skills developed from working in senior leader roles across mining and construction, in government , small business and multi-national private enterprise. Sue strongly advocates for individuals, groups and initiatives to bring about sustainable change. More recently Sue has provided support to First Nations organisations and joined the board of Osborn Consulting Engineers as an independent non-executive director.
