It was a pleasure to host Parkes Steve and his team of 3rd party teachers at Watkins Steel and Holovision ! Reuben Wilson kicked off the tour at Holovision, providing an in-depth look at our drafting processes. Matt Hunter continued the tour at Watkins Steel, where he showcased our advanced robotic systems and walked through how they streamline our fabrication process. We always enjoy the opportunity to share what we do and how our technology drives efficiency and precision in every project. Thank you again for spending the morning with us—we hope you enjoyed your visit as much as we did!

Watkins Steel recently had the pleasure of attending Valmont Industries, Inc. ’s Customer Appreciation event. Representing our team were Reuben Wilson , Deon Wise, Bryan Van Malsen , and John Romanens, who joined other leading fabricators for a day of golf, networking, and industry collaboration. The event kicked off early with a breakfast and a friendly 18-hole Ambrose 4-ball competition. Golf carts were provided to navigate the course, where Valmont had arranged several well-stocked pit stops, offering wine and canapés, Asahi and smoked salmon, brisket sliders, and beers. Additionally, drink carts were circulating to ensure everyone stayed refreshed throughout the day. After the round, participants gathered at the clubhouse (the 19th hole) for a buffet lunch and some well-deserved relaxation. The day was capped off with a raffle draw, where various prizes were handed out. We’re proud to share a few highlights from the day: ▪ Deon Wise claimed the second-longest drive of the day, demonstrating his skill on the course. ▪ Reuben took home a Ryobi drill in the raffle, a great addition to his toolkit! ▪ John R firmly believes Watkins Steel had the best score, but in the excitement, our team didn’t submit their card at the end of the round. We would like to extend a big thank you to Valmont for organising such a well-run and enjoyable event. It was a fantastic opportunity for industry professionals to connect, and Watkins Steel looks forward to participating again in the future!

Project Details: Duration: Nov 2022 – Apr 2024 Scope: 234 tons of structural steel components Technologies Used: Total station, Voortman plate machine, robotic welding, and more Key Achievements: - Successful delivery of Coles within a tight timeframe - Effective collaboration with Hansen Yuncken - Utilisation of advanced fabrication techniques Special thanks to our team, led by Project Manager Jono Hallam and drafters Kyle and Nitin, for their dedication and expertise.
