We operate reuse shops, transfer stations, weighbridges, landfills, community recycling centres, a container deposit refund facility, a problem waste mobile community recycling service, mattress deconstruction, expanded polystyrene processing, non-ferrous metal recycling, and community spaces and workshops. 
RRA operates in NSW, QLD and the ACT across seven regions.

🌊 Restoring Noosa's Oyster Ecosystem! 🦪 We’re proud to share an update on the Noosa River Oyster Restoration Project from Site Manager Mitchell McIntyre for Resource Recovery Australia and the Reviva Reuse Shop at Noosa, which has played a key support role over the past 5 years. In collaboration with The Nature Conservancy (TNC), Noosa Integrated Catchment Association (NICA), Noosa Council , and other local partners, we’re working to bring back the rock oyster ecosystems in the Noosa River estuary—a vital link in the chain of biodiversity that keeps our river system healthy. These oysters are not just essential to the ecosystem but also hold cultural significance to the Kabi Kabi people, the traditional custodians of the land. Thanks to the Shuck Don’t Chuck program, we’ve been able to collect and cure oyster shells from local restaurants, transforming them into homes for juvenile oysters before returning them to the river to help clean and restore our waterways. The lids from the oysters are also finding new purpose, being processed by NICA and Mineral Fox into high-end building products—a wonderful example of the circular economy in action! The project is showing fantastic progress, with juvenile oysters, mussels, and other marine species now rapidly colonising the shells at the four restoration sites at Tewantin, Goat Island, Noosa Sound East and Noosa Sound West. 🌱 The rock oyster has the extraordinary ability to clean the river while providing food and shelter for various wildlife within the estuary ecosystem, a crucial link in the biodiversity chain. Lisa visited our Toowoomba team today and has shared this great photo, and given a big shout-out to two remarkable team members: Rita (left) - Site Manager, for both Wellcamp and Kleinton Waste Management sites, brings her leadership experience from big box retailers to help build and mentor a truly strong team. We’re so lucky to have her expertise and dedication on board. Gwen (middle) - At 74, Gwen is an inspiration to all of us! Recently peer-selected as our Team Member of the Year for 2023, Gwen is doing fantastic work in the Resource Recovery Area, helping to divert as much as possible from landfill. It’s no wonder everyone loves working with her—her energy and passion are unmatched! And we can't forget Lisa Hickman, (right) our People and Culture Partner who works tirelessly behind the scenes hiring and mentoring team members across Australia, with most facing barriers to employment. We are absolutely thrilled that our Resource Recovery Australia (RRA) site at Wellcamp in Toowoomba, has again, taken home the top award in this year’s Toowoomba Regional Council Waste Management Garden Competition! The team's creativity in upcycling, recycling, and reuse has created an inviting space with stunning sculptures made from items that were destined for landfill. RRA Site Manager Rita Duffy couldn’t be prouder of the teams passion for building an inviting site, that the community loves to visit. Also, don’t miss the beautiful garden at the Resource Recovery Australia site at Kleinton, also in Toowoomba, which is full of upcycled bees and flowers! Sending a big thank you to our amazing volunteer Pete, who at 83 years young, helped build the structures and animals in both gardens. What a legend! The urgency highlighted by the Australian Council of Recycling (ACOR) in relation to #batteryfires resonates strongly with us at Resource Recovery Australia. The improper disposal of batteries poses a major safety risk, and it’s a challenge we all need to tackle together. At our Resource Recovery Australia waste management sites across Australia, we’ve seen firsthand the dangers that batteries in regular waste streams can cause. That’s why we’re committed to making proper disposal as accessible as possible through the development of our Mobile Community Recycling Service. (MCRS) 🚛 Residents of Cumberland, Blacktown and Parramatta City Councils can simply book a free pick-up from their homes so they can safely dispose of problem waste such as batteries, gas bottles, paint, oils, fluoro tubes, and e-waste. By keeping these items out of household bins, we’re reducing fire risks, protecting our workers, and helping the environment. ♻️ We fully support these calls for government action to address the battery disposal crisis, and we’re proud to work with Cumberland City Council , City of Parramatta and Blacktown City Council who use the Mobile Community Recycling Service in their communities to help keep everyone safe.
