🚀Our Belgian portfolio company icometrix is on the verge of a major breakthrough in the US thanks to reimbursement code. 

Icometrix, a leader in AI-based brain scan analysis which already analyzed 200k brain scans, is achieving significant milestones in the United States. The decision by American insurers to reimburse its technology marks a major advancement for this Belgian company, founded by Wim Van Hecke. This move has tripled the value of contracts, reflecting the growing demand for Icometrix’s innovative solutions.

This round is led by Ackermans & van Haaren together with Driehaus Capital Management LLC and our Quest for Growth

The proceeds will be used to advance their pipeline of novel GPCR-Modulating Therapies into clinical development. This significant milestone will support  two Phase 1 trials and advance two additional programs to IND approval.

🔬 Their R&D efforts will expand, focusing on discovering new development candidates for rare endocrine diseases and obesity.

🌐 ExCulture: The second investment for our Capricorn Dutch Industrial Biotech Seed Fund 🚀
  
ExCulture, based on technology developed at Delft University of Technology, is developing a novel and sustainable method to produce essential biomedical compounds through fermentation. The first target is Heparin, which is the world’s most used blood thinner and currently still produced as a by-product of pig slaughter. ExCulture’s platform enables animal-free, reliable and sustainable production of Heparin.
 
The Dutch Industrial Biotech Seed Fund is a part of the Capricorn Industrial Biotech Fund and is an initiative of Capricorn Partners, dsm-firmenich and InnovationQuarter to provide crucial early-stage funding and expert guidance for ventures with industrial biotechnology applications at their core. The fund is managed by the Cleantech Team of Capricorn Partners and has been awarded additional RVO Seed Capital / Seed Business Angel Regeling  funding by the Dutch government.

We are proud to work with Innovation Industries as co-investors in this round. The investment complements earlier funding and support from Delft Enterprises B.V. UNIIQ, Libertatis Ergo Holding B.V.  and Planet B.io and will allow the company to progress its platform on the way to regulatory approval.
