Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company is the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain, established to manage the government's non-oil and gas related investment assets. It operates as a commercially driven investment arm, diversifying the Kingdom's sources of revenue and contributing to the national economy by investing in a variety of sectors locally, regionally, and internationally.

Mumtalakat is the sovereign wealth fund of Bahrain. Borne out of the economic diversification plan spearheaded by the Crown Prince, Mumtalakat was established in 2006 as a holding company to manage 29 commercial assets on behalf of the Government. In the years since, our assets have grown to over 60 local and international companies across 12 sectors.

We invest in, and for, Bahrain, playing an important role in the national economy through our strategic assets while seeking commercially viable investment opportunities in growth sectors domestically and internationally.

His Excellency Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Mumtalakat, recently visited local portfolio company, Al Dana Amphitheatre . During his visit, Shaikh Abdulla had the opportunity to tour the facilities, which have sustainability embedded into its architecture.

Al Dana Amphitheatre has been one of the major national tourism projects planned to meet the Kingdom of Bahrain’s 2022-2026 Tourism Strategy, which aims to promote Bahrain as an international tourism hub.

 During his visit, Shaikh Abdulla discussed the milestones the Amphitheatre has achieved since opening its doors to the public in 2021, as well as its future outlook with the recently launched season. Mumtalakat works closely with the Amphitheatre in achieving its objectives of developing the leisure and entertainment industry within the Kingdom.

‎كما تم خلال الزيارة مناقشة الإنجازات التي حققها مسرح الدانة منذ افتتاحه في عام 2021، إلى جانب الإطلاع على الخطط والأهداف المستقبلية بالتزامن مع موسم الفعاليات الجديد الذي أطلق مؤخراً. هذا وتعمل ممتلكات بشكل وثيق مع مسرح الدانة لتحقيق أهدافه المتمثلة في تطوير صناعة الترفيه والتسلية داخل المملكة

Mumtalakat announced today the appointment of Mr. Khalid Taqi to the position of Managing Director of Local Impact Investments and Mr. Isa Hasan Maseeh to the position of Managing Director of Risk and Portfolio Construction, as part of its ongoing efforts to attract Bahraini talent, effective from January 2024. 
 
This further demonstrates Mumtalakat’s steadfast dedication to recruiting top Bahraini talent whose capabilities will positively impact the growth of its portfolio to continue to generate sustainable returns.

Mumtalakat and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – Masdar, one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies, announced today the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at exploring collaboration opportunities in the development of clean and renewable energy projects in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
 
Under the terms of this MoU, Mumtalakat and Masdar will collaborate to develop a pipeline of renewable energy projects, supply cost competitive green energy to Bahrain, build local capabilities and foster innovation in Bahrain by utilising their complementary expertise and know-how. In addition, they will explore co-investment opportunities in other markets of common interest.

Mumtalakat announced today the launch of its voluntary carbon offsetting platform, Safa, helping businesses and individuals  better understand and manage their carbon footprint by contributing to exemplary climate initiatives. This coincides with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s participation at COP28, currently being held in the United Arab Emirates.
