We're very proud to announce that SRI Associate Director Sheila McIlraith has received a 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award from CAIAC - Canadian Artificial Intelligence Association ! McIlraith's early work was foundational to the development of semantic web services and influenced World Wide Web standards. More recently, she has focused on reasoning about dynamical systems, often through the lens of human-compatible AI. McIlraith is also committed to studying the impact of AI on society as part of the Schwartz Reisman Institute leadership team and, in 2020, she initiated and co-developed the Embedded Ethics Education Initiative (E3I), which teaches students how to incorporate ethical considerations into the design and deployment of technology. 💐 Congratulations Professor McIlraith on this well-deserved honour!
