Creating something truly novel is hard so for many reasons, and a core part of it is creating messaging that is intuitive and easy to understand. 

Thank you Rachel Brown and Beauty Independent for sharing how this messaging shift has unlocked a new growth trajectory for us (we just had our first $45k day on DTC and are up almost 9x YTD 😮) and to our amazing Everist team (Nikita Kataria, Kristina Zabelin, Tamara Nurse, Laura Artin (Rizkalla), Allison Wang) and group of strategic investors (Kathryn From, Irene de Gooyer-Collins, CPA, CMA, Jonathan Shui, CFA, Manica Blain, Joanna Griffiths) for whiteknuckling through all the twists and turns (reformulations, moving our entire supply chain, packaging optimizations) that got us here.

About 13 years ago, I moved to New York after graduating for what was then my dream job. In my (very naive) excitement, I rented an apartment in the Lower East Side without seeing it in person. As you would expect, I showed up and it was a complete disaster (200 very ugly square feet). LES was a very different neighbourhood back then, but there was a building a block away that I walked by everyday for years that I loved and thought "one day, I want to do something here." It was a beautiful heritage building at the corner of Orchard and Grand, that was pink. The pink building on Orchard St.

Years later, the universe put that building (that was a landmark of my early 20s) back in my life, and I am incredibly excited about our newest store in New York, in that same pink building on Orchard from my past life.

The doors to our newest store (number 10!) are now open. As always, I'm fortunate to be surrounded by brilliant people that make it a reality every day. Thank you to my brilliant colleagues and friends Mackenzie Yeates Sonia Fujikawa Michelle Fung Paula Sapinoso Asmaa Hussain - Shakil Nirvona Soraya-Galo Sana Jaffery and many more for your vision and hard work bringing these beautiful spaces to life.
