The Paris Olympics were filled with unforgettable moments and thrilling competitions, but sometimes, the most valuable lessons come from what happens on the court and behind the scenes. 🏐

Kijiji's very own Walid Achour had the opportunity to attend the Games, and amidst all the excitement, he observed a powerful lesson during the Spain vs. France beach volleyball match. The game was intense: 35-degree heat, a roaring crowd, and mounting pressure. Yet, it was the Spanish team's unwavering focus and resilience that stood out. Despite France's projected win, Spain stayed calm, stuck to their plan, and seized their opportunity at just the right moment....landing them the win 2:1! 

This got us thinking about how these qualities—patience, persistence, and strategic timing—are just as crucial in business as they are in sports. At Kijiji, we know that success isn’t always about acting fast; it’s about knowing when to act. By remaining patient and focused, we can better understand our community’s needs, adapt to market changes, and make impactful decisions when the time is right.

Walid’s experience at the Olympics reminds us that staying the course and waiting for the perfect opportunity can lead to extraordinary outcomes. It’s a powerful reminder that sometimes, it’s not just about playing the game, but about playing it better every time.

Recently, we celebrated our annual Kijiji summer party at STACKT market 🙌. This year’s summer party was definitely one to remember as we introduced our quarterly Prestiji Awards! 

With Innovation, Collaboration, and Customer Focus as our three award categories, we wanted to deepen our culture of respect, recognition, and appreciation for team members across all levels of the organisation. What an amazing 10+ years it has been partnering with pride & remembrance run Toronto 🏳️‍🌈 

Last month, Kijiji took part in the 28th Annual Pride and Remembrance Run and despite the rain, the crowd sure was excited and off to the races! Our Kijiji volunteers were onsite to make the run as easy-peasy as possible with some branded swag and helpful gear like hats, bandanas, and fanny packs (a big fan favourite!) The sea of purple was amazing to see throughout the crowd. Cheers to all the participants, and thanks to Kijiji's very own Brenda Levitan for spearheading this event!

Founded in 1996 in Toronto, the 5km run and 3km walk is the largest, long running and most fun pride run in Canada. The Pride and Remembrance Association is a leading not for profit volunteer-run organization dedicated to supporting Toronto's LGBTQ+ community.
