We stumbled on a new use case, thanks to our customer! I recently had the pleasure of joining Van Braam-Minnesma for an on-site demonstration of our technology in Amsterdam Noord, where they’re working on a massive renovation project. In a project like this, where time and quality are crucial, I was there to assist with precise interior material positioning. Walls, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. Renovations often require working with existing structures, meaning relative accuracy. That’s one of the places where our tool shines. With our technology, you display the full plan, make real-time adjustments to fit the actual environment, and most importantly, document every decision to generate an as-built record on the fly. But just before we wrapped up for the day, my customer surprised me with a request we’d never tackled before: a soil projection. She convinced me to step out of the usual demo routine and try something completely new...a challenge that any rep might hesitate to accept! 😅 Despite my initial reluctance, we gave it a shot. The conditions were right—tolerances were within limits, existing elements were in place for positioning, and we were indoors, so no concerns about direct sunlight affecting laser visibility. Together, we figured out a process on the spot and successfully validated a brand-new use case. - ''We can work with that'', the team said. Lasers and sunlight don’t always play well together. While it works, visibility can be a challenge. That’s why our projectors are typically used indoors... but not this time! We recently had the opportunity to collaborate with New-Firmus Inc. , a leader in formwork projects in the City of Vancouver . Their team handles layout work early in the day, and we were there to bring laser precision to the process. By using our laser projection technology, we were able to accurately project the layout before the concrete pour—all on the same day. With everything meticulously scheduled, there’s little room for delays. It’s all about efficiency and precision. Setup, position, scan, layout—let’s get to work! 👷♂️

At the heart of everything we do is a key principle: customer feedback. Every construction site presents its unique challenges and requirements. This means we must be flexible and ready to adapt our products because no tool will work perfectly in every situation right out of the box. This approach has guided us through five years of rigorous R&D, enabling us to discover and create new use cases. By listening to our customers, especially when they tell us something isn't working, we can make significant improvements and steer our innovation in the right direction. Here's a good example: Thibaud Daguzan is on-site, collaborating with one of our users to fine-tune our projector for masonry projects.
