Snowdon Partners had a great time reconnecting with our network in Halifax at this week's ACG Atlantic conference. It was another record-breaking year for attendance, with M&A advisors, corporate lawyers, private equity professionals, family offices, and founders all coming together. A special thanks to Mike Fenton - C.F.R.E. and the entire committee for organizing a fantastic event! Some key takeaways from the panels and conversations with attendees included: • While the Canadian macroeconomic landscape remains uncertain, forecasts for 2025 are optimistic, with expectations of positive GDP growth • M&A activity continues to increase across the lower middle market and middle market after a slower-than-expected start to the year • A valuation gap between buyers and sellers persists, however high-quality assets (growing end markets, above average margin profiles) continue to command premium valuations, attracting strong interest from financial sponsors and strategic acquirers
