Yesterday we had the honor to moderate a panel discussion at the annual conference of Ethics and Compliance Switzerland on the topic “how to implement an effective human rights management system”. Many thanks to the panelists Stephanie Ossenbach Aditi Wanchoo Marion Schnyder Rolf H. Weber for the valuable contributions and insights. Few key take-aways: 💡 Cooperation between different functions in the company is important - sustainability, compliance, human resources or purchasing play a crucial role in implementation an effective human rights management system 💡 Importance of leadership - "Conduct from the top" is key 💡 Diverse value systems in different cultures must be taken into account when rolling out a human rights management system 💡It is important not to forget that the bottom line is to improve the situation of people in the supply chain 💡 and last but not least - it needs PASSION and PATIENCE💡
