300% turnover. That's the usual rate of personnel turnover in physical security. That means that instead of a company paying 1 salary for 1 job done, they are in fact, paying a multiple of this: salary + (3 X recruiting costs) + training time. After interviewing more than 50 companies in the US, it is clear that the cost of hiring is very high. Add to this the fact that retention is very low and you have a tremendously impactful trend. While some companies, very few, only spend a few days hiring a new trainee, we have heard from security specialist in critical infrastructure that they train their new security team members for 12 months. And yes, they reported that retention is a struggle. We can at least try to reduce these costs meaningfully. We can do so by leveraging technology that is intuitive to use, user-friendly and quick to learn. Add to that powerful force-multiplier effects and we can start to see the effect this will have on the costs of training, retention and the engagement and effectiveness of our personnel.
