There's constant talk about rising premiums in the fully insured space, but increasing healthcare costs are pushing up pricing across the board. With stop-loss premiums set to rise 11.5% for self-funded plans, how do we get companies out of the risk business and back to simply providing great benefits without repercussion? (Yes, that was rhetorical).

It's deja vu all over again. 

According to a recent PWC report, group medical cost trend is anticipated to hit 8%, beating out both inflation and employee wage growth. This is an all-too-familiar warning that companies will once again be juggling the many cost pressures of running a business and hiring great talent, while still supporting their people. 

Saying "it's time for change" undermines the fact that it has been time for change for quite a while now. It's why we get out of bed every morning - to bring more affordable plans to those who need and deserve them.
