If you invest in Crypto, Please be careful! Americans lost $5.6 billion through cryptocurrency scams in 2023, according to data released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. That's up 45% from 2022. Nearly 700,000 crypto fraud complaints were received by the FBI last year, with investment fraud making up $3.96 billion of the lost funds. Many of the victims were first approached by scammers through dating apps or social media, the FBI said. According to the Bureau, the speed and irreversibility of crypto transactions make it "an attractive vehicle for criminals, while creating challenges to recover stolen funds."
