SEED Collective is an international event that brings together experts in the field of fertile soil, biomaterials and regenerative projects, with the goal of developing solutions to natural resource-based ecological challenges. It's a space for collaboration and innovation, where ideas and projects take shape to contribute to a more conscious and sustainable future. During the event, the architectural 3D printer Crane WASP was used to live-print with locally sourced earth. Operated by the SEED Collective team during a workshop, it showcased how 3D printing can be a powerful tool for creating sustainable and natural architectural structures. It was an honor to be part of SEED Collective as one of the major players in the use of biomaterials for sustainable architectural 3D printing, and showcasing Crane WASP in action! We're excited to share that we will be one of the speakers at the International Conference on Advance Manufacturing (ICAM), organized by ASTM Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence ! Discover more about the event: https://lnkd.in/dC3Dz35P • During our talk, we will look at WASP’s decade-long journey that made 3D printing with raw earth possible, highlighting the challenges faced and the technical solutions developed to overcome them. We will conduct an in-depth analysis of WASP’s architectural projects, including the world’s first 3D-printed house made from raw earth, Gaia, and internationally renowned projects like TECLA and the Dior Pop-Up Stores built on Dubai’s beach. Additionally, we will present the latest advancements on the project Itaca: the self-sufficient housing module that will soon be constructed in Italy. • WASP’s talk, titled “3D Printing Construction with Raw Earth: Achievements and Challenges” and held by Giulio Buscaroli will be on October 31 at 10:30 a.m.

On October 15, WASP will be one of the speakers at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Milan, presenting the GLAMS Project: A two-year research project that aims to create structural elements for the construction of lunar bases through a 3D printing approach that uses cement binders extracted from lunar soils (regolith). Discover more: https://lnkd.in/d47RFUEH • Funded by Agenzia Spaziale Italiana , the project is coordinated by the Center for Space Studies and Activities “Giuseppe Colombo” (CISAS) of the Università degli Studi di Padova , holding multiple partnerships with the Institute of Condensed Matter Chemistry and Energy Technologies of the CNR ICMATE based in Genoa, and WASP , Italy's leader in the 3D printing sector. The project includes Professor Luca Valentini of the Department of Geosciences as scientific manager and Professor Carlo Bettanini and Dr. Giorgia Franchin of the Department of Industrial Engineering who will lead specific work packages. During the event, the results of the project’s initial advancements will be presented. The research team intends to optimize the lunar cement formulated from regolith soils found on the Moon. The project ‘Future Archeologies 2049’ by Virginia San Fratello imagines a future where 3D printed architecture made of traditional materials such as local clay is not only something common, but also extremely beautiful. “It takes an average of 39 years for an embryonic technology to mature. Ceramic 3D printing was “invented” in 2010, so by 2049, building with 3D printed ceramics should be the new normal”. - Virginia San Fratello on Future Archeologies 2049 Read more about it: https://lnkd.in/d3iWfhPp • On the occasion of Argillà 2024, architect and designer Virginia San Fratello presented a unique installation of ceramic 3D printed bricks made of local clay from Faenza. The project, started in 2022, was completed thanks to the use of WASP 40100 LDM and Continuous Feeding System, which WASP provided to Faenza Art Ceramic Center to be used by the artists of their residency program.
